Qitta is a non-profit volunteer project made by Borna Ahadi. We keep as little about you as we can, we never sell your data, and there are no ads. Qitta is free and never charges or takes money.
What we keep
Your email, username and password (stored encrypted; we can't read it). If you add them: your name, profile photo and a short bio. When you report a cat: the place where the cat is. The cat photos and receipts you upload, and the chat messages you send.
Your location
We use your location only when you report a cat and tap the location button. We never track you. Everyone sees only the general area of a cat; the exact spot is visible to rescue admins only, to keep cats safe.
Why we keep it
Only to run Qitta: to sign you in, show cats and profiles, deliver chats and notifications, and keep the community safe. Admin actions are recorded in an activity log.
Who helps us
Supabase stores the data (accounts, posts, photos and chats). Resend sends our emails, such as sign-up codes. Cloudflare runs the website. They handle data only to provide their service. We never sell or give your data to advertisers.
What others can see
Your username, name, photo, points and posts are public. Your email is never shown. Chat messages are seen only by the people in that chat. To keep people safe, the Qitta team can read a chat when checking a report or a safety concern, and every time a chat is opened this way, it is recorded.
Sign-in records
When you are signed in, we record when you last used Qitta, how you sign in (email or Google), and your approximate country and city, worked out by our host Cloudflare from your connection. We do not store your IP address or exact location. Only the Qitta administrator can see this, and we use it to run and protect the service.
Cookies
Only what the app needs: keeping you logged in and remembering your language and light or dark mode. No tracking or advertising cookies. Visitors who are not signed in are counted with a random id kept in their browser (no name, no IP address), only to see how many guests visit each day; these counts are deleted after about 3 months.
Delete your data
You can edit your profile any time. To delete your account and your data, write to our contact email (coming soon) from the email you signed up with. We will delete it within 30 days.
